UCF 6 - Win, round 2 by arm bar

last minute fight- win- round 1 by arm bar

On Friday (aug 17) morning at 1 am I got the call from Charles from lockflow that I was needed to fill in a fight for Saturday night (Aug 18).

So, Friday, I went to pick up my passport, medicals, got my hair done, and made my way out to Anacortes, a town past Bellingham in Washington. I didn't even have time to tell anyone. I weighed in friday night.

Then sat night (last night we fought. The show was lord of the cage 3. I didn't even know the name of the show until I got there.

I knew nothing about my opponent or where she trained.

1st round. She threw a couple hard leg kicks. First one I caught on the side of my calf, the second on my shin. I didn't shin condition, so it hurt. I landed some punches, maybe some low kicks. We clinched up, she was strong and pinned me against the ropes. I didn't want to mess around anymore so I pulled guard and went for an arm bar, but we got trapped in the ropes. The started us again in the center from guard. I got another arm bar, she slammed me off it. I did an arm bar sweep once we landed. Got mount. Punched and elbowed her face for ever- 2 or 3 minutes... then my corner said 15 seconds, go for a submission. I was a bit hesitant but was so tired from punching for so long that I went for another arm bar. She taped with only 1 second left in the round.

Special thanks to Adam Ryan, Marcus Soares, & Wes Jaya for cornering me on such short notice.

Liz Posener vs. Courtney Martell
Round 1 Win by arm bar

Liz Posener vs. Molly Helsel- Draw

-promoters set it up for a 2 round fight-they wanted more action, then later regretted that decision once they saw us fight and realised that we would have been more then fine for 3 rounds.

-round 1- I was a bit tentative. -I got hit hard on the ear and ruptured my ear drum. That's the first time that happened to me so it kind of freaked me out. -I pretty much blew most of this round. I spent a lot of it pinned up against the cage standing. -I ended the round good-in her guard with her pressed up against the fence landing ok punches. -I lost this round, but was happy to finish it.

round 2 I felt better. -I landed a couple of upkicks to her face -I was more aggressive, landed more face punches and bloodied up her nose -main exchange I got a good thai clinch, landed a few solid knees to the body and a couple to the side of her head. She pulled guard, and the round ended there. -I won this round.

I may have got some of these detaisl mixed up, but that's what I remember. So it was a draw. They want us to fight again, next time for 3 rounds. Overall, feel pretty good about it. I have a lot to work on. My ear will be ok. The ear drum I have to get looked at, but should be ok in 2 weeks. I got cut on the back of the same ear somehow too. SO I had to get 4 stitches. I think that those come out in 5 days.
